David came over last night and joined in the youtube rally.

David introduced us to this preacher.

We are at the home of our good friend Tai.

Last night Josh and Jenny came by and we spent the evening pulling up our favorite Youtube videos.

It was lots of fun.  Jenny and Josh introduced us to these singers.  They are really good.

This has been one of our favorite songs during this time.

I have been out of the blogsphere since our son, Julio Angel, passed away in September 2007.  It has been a tough time for us living through this deep grief, not that it is over.  We are still in it, but I am in a stronger place now.  So let the blogging begin!

Lisa and I have been in Mexico since November 10.

We are in Mexico seeking rest, solitude and sunshine.

We met up with one of my college friends and his wife (Nate and Angela) from Eastern in San Diego. We also saw Lisa’s uncle and aunt (Dick and Donna).  After SD we went to Tijuana to meet up with Regent Friends (Jero and Bety).  We have been traveling with them through the Baja Desert for the past 10 days.

Tomorrow we head to  La Paz, Mexico.

We will be there until mid December.

THINKING COMMUNALLY

One night I dreamed a dream:
I was walking through dense woods.
At times I appeared to be walking alone;
it seemed that no one was around.
No one cared
or expressed interest.
But when I looked more closely, they were there.
Some hid behind the trees,
thinking they too were alone.
Others were further ahead, leading the way.
Still others were behind, following my trail.
A small group was right beside me
with outstretched arms and welcoming smiles,
at times visible,
at others, hidden from view.
And behind them all, and in them all,
and through them all-
those that hid, those that led,
those that followed, and those close at hand-
God.
And then I saw a city.
It was majestic and exquisite,
like a new bride,
radiant and perfect.
A city teeming with people beyond number.
Those that used to hide, those that led,
those that followed, and those that expressed care-
they were all there.
And I was among them.
And then I heard a loud voice,
“The home of God is among mortals.
He will dwell with them as their God;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them.”
I wept.
But then He wiped every tear from my eye.
Amen.

Rod Wilson

On September 7, my son was both born and died.  I am laid waste by grief.  He was a beautiful baby boy.  We spent six days with him. We held him, cried over him, dedicated him to God, bathed him and shared him with family and friends.  So we go back east to do a service and bury our son in the DC area.

HERNANDEZ, Julio Angel Ajaj is greatly missed by his parents Julio Cesar and Lisa Hernandez; grandparents Julio and Dina Hernandez and Esper and Jean Ajaj. On September 7, 2007, Julio Angelito was born a beautiful baby that blessed our lives richly. We love him dearly and deeply grieve his absence. In his short life he was a source of healing. We can’t wait to see you again in heaven, Angelito. Love your family.
