Today I am craving a pupusa. Not many Salvadorians in Vancouver. So I can’t go to the corner and pick one up. The only good spot I have found is Rinconcito on the Drive. One time I went to a Mexican Chicken place that had pupusas. Big mistake!!! I guess you can’t expect much from a city that has bad Mexican in the first place. It was a combination too of a limited Latin cuisine and how can you expect a Mexican restaurant to have good pupusas? It is like going to a Salvadorian restaurant and expect them to have good Mole. So here is a picture of a pupusa. MMmmmmmm! looks so good. If I had a genie right now I would have them bring me some good pupusas with curtido and an tall cup of ensalada and another one of horchata to chase it all down. Missing the pupusas!

I wrote an advent article in the Ect. (our school newspaper) I put it in my blog of Dec. 4. Today a friend thanked me for writing the article. I wanted to put a picture of a Christmas Cactus because some people didn’t knwo what it was. It is also know as a Christmas/Winter Rose in Ireland. In Canada it is called a Holiday Cactus. So this is what it is.
This guy Daniel Edward, a celeberty shock artist, wanted to honour Castro on his birthday by creating a huge sculpture of Castro. However, Univision and Cuban exiles convinced Edwards that Castro is evil. Check out the NPR report on the turn around of an artist.
It was a drastic turn around, he spent 20 minutes thinking about it and then changed his mind. I was disappointed that it was unfair reporting by one side of the story. No one presented the opinions of a Castro supporter. It depends who you talk to whether Castro is a hero or villan. I don’t know enough about Castro, but I think that they should of at least given both sides to Edwards.
Well in the end, Edwards allowed Cuban exiles in Little Havana, FL to destroy the sculpture. You can check out the video by going here.
