Last night was the first time I watched a whole half of CFL football. I was very impressed with the players agressive playing. These guys looked they had wings. They were diving and flying through the air unlike NFL players. Maybe it was the teams playing? I don’t know? CFL only has three downs to make a first down. The game is a lot faster. I did miss the running game. This Grey Cup was exciting, much better than last year’s super bowl. Hopefully this year we will have a game!

Syria is close to my heart because my wife is of Syrian heritage.
NPR has a story on Kesten. A poor and marginalized village in Northern Syria that is suffering from intermarriage. They are unable to marry outside the village because the village is so poor and people cannot afford to marry people outside the village because they cannot afford a dowry sufficent to marry outside the village. There is a school teacher advocating for the people of Kesten.
