Here is a great audio presentation of Art Tatum, called a piano genius. He died 50 years ago, but his talent has been unmatched. Some people don’t like him because he is so complex. It is a beautiful presentation of this musician with so much talent that he could improvise with a busted piano. One guy said that he was able to make a bad piano sound good.

Ted Haggard, leader of the National Association of Evangelicals and pastor of New Life in Colorado Springs, was caught in a relationship with a male prostitute.
Yesterday the church gathered to worship entangled in this web.
Kirk Johnson from NYT reported:
It was not until a letter was read from Mr. Haggard’s wife, Gayle, that the tissue boxes were really needed. Ms. Haggard was deeply involved with the various women’s groups and classes at New Life Church. She wrote that she loved her husband, with whom she has five children, and would stick with him.
And what Ms. Haggard wrote next received a big and wrenching laugh from the crowd:
“For those of you who have been concerned that my marriage was so perfect I could not possibly relate to the women who are facing great difficulties, know that this will never again be the case,” she wrote.

I can’t imagine what this family is going through. I can’t believe that Mrs. Haggard showed up to church. I was impressed by her courage to say she can now identify with broken families. I hope that this will make create a culture of openness: open to the Holy Spirit, open to honesty and openness to welcome the broken. It must be so hard for the church. Maybe all this can a key event for the healing for the church.
Last night Caleb, Tara, Lisa and I saw Rize.
It is a movie about Krump Dancing. I couldn’t believe how long it took me to finally see the movie. I heard it was coming out last year and I forgot about it because I didn’t notice here in theaters. Then last night our friends Jodi and Michelle told us to check it out. They warned us that it is a US thing and non-US people would not understand it. Jodi said that this type of dancing is a form of lament. It was the truth. It was a fascinating film to watch. I don’t know what the krump movement has gone. It seems that it has not reached Canada. I would be curious to see if it got to Seattle.
One thing that struck me is to think of this type of dancing as a type of spiritual warfare. Dancing for deliverance. There is a movie that Lisa and I saw that had this theme it was called Exiles, a Moroccan film. It was an interesting film about two Moroccan-European young adults that make the trek against the migration to Morocco to find experience their roots. It was a powerful film and I identified a lot with that longing for home. At the end it has a scene where the woman joins other Moroccan women in a dance.
There is something to dance. Check out this clip about a film that has a krump group called the Remnant Family. What I love best about the krump dance is the resistance through dance! It is great. Keep it going. Speak out through dance.
Okay I am a Redskins fan, but I want thm to change their names. However, I am so excited they beat Dallas. I did not get to see the game, but from the highlights it seems that Dallas beat themselves. I could not believe TO dropped that touchdown pass, but thanks.
I told my friend Eddie, the whenever the Skins have a terrible season they beat the Boys. If they do well they loose to the Boys. Well Ed, you gonna wear the Skins Tee? We used to bet that whoever lost had to wear the wining team t-shirt.
