Tide. Way. Out.

This past Saturday, Lisa and I enjoyed the drastic tide changes in Vancouver. We got to go about half mile into the bay (or whatever it is called) and there was a beautiful sandbar way out there. We were able to jump into the deep deep ocean from the sand bar. The water was great. This only happens on a new moon or full moon. That was our summer highlight in Vancouver.

Well this week we broke the $1.10/pint barrier in Canada. There were some major stalls today on the highway and the traffic guy said he thinks it is because of the high gas prices and people are waiting to fill up their tank. So if you are like us you are looking for the lowest price in Vancouver check out this web site: Gas Prices or in the US you can check out Gas Buddies.

Lisa and I are slowly settling in to our new place.
It is nice to feel like we can finally unpack our boxes.
I am doing an audio course right now, but I am not getting as much done as I planned.

We leave for Birmingham, AL on the 19th!
We going to one of my good friends wedding. I can’t wait to see him and the rest of my family.
They are all going.
It is going to be a great honor for me to be in a wedding with my brother Danny.
He is a groomsmen also.
One time Danny stood in for me in one of my friend’s wedding when I couldn’t make it b/c of a back injury.
Now we both get to be groomsmen for a mutual friend.
That is going to be lots of fun.

August has arrived. This signals the end of summer for us who are is school, but in El Salvador it is the begining of their festivities. This week begins the big fiestas agostinas begin in El Salvador. You can read the history by clicking Here. You can also listen to a song by La Fuerza Band called San Salvador.

We returned from El Salvador on July 23, but it already seems so long ago. We had a great time. I want to write about our experience, but I need to let it settle in a little more. There are so many amazing things we saw and participated in with the Salvadoran people. One of the most exciting things was that Salvadoran Immigration did not charge me a tourist visa because my parents are Salvadoran so I was classififed as a forgein born Salvadoran!

Lisa and I had a fun BC Day.
In Canada, we had Mon. off celebrating British Columbia.
The first part of the day we slept, then we met up with Caleb and Tara to do the Sea Wall ride. It was a lot of fun. We got to the Totem Poles, but unfortunately Caleb got a flat and we could not find a bike shop near Stanley Park. We had to bike to Burrard Bridge while our wives waited for us in the park. We finally got to the bike shop and they closed early b/c of the holiday. So Caleb biked home and got his car so our wives could drive the down bike and then Caleb and bike to their home for a nice dinner. We had the best milkshakes in Vancouver made by Caleb himself.
